The Role
As the Head of Bids and Strategy, you will lead the development and execution of business plans and bids to secure new opportunities within the skills training sector. You will collaborate with senior leaders and external consultants to drive growth, build partnerships, and increase revenue.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing stakeholder management, including local authorities, FE colleges, and industry networks, while managing employer engagement initiatives and reporting on performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Leading the development and execution of the organisation’s growth strategy.

Managing and nurturing key partnerships with stakeholders and potential business partners.

Collaborating with internal teams to create compelling bids for new business opportunities.

Driving employer engagement initiatives and identifying new skills training opportunities.
*
Monitoring and reporting on the success of business development activities and funding performance.
*
Contributing to strategic decision-making through data analysis and performance reviews.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:

Significant experience in business development, employer engagement, and bid management, ideally within the Further Education (FE) or skills training sector.
*
A strong understanding of funding mechanisms, bid preparation, and business development within the education and skills training sectors.
*
A proven ability to forge and maintain meaningful partnerships with external stakeholders, including local authorities, employers, and industry networks.
*
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse audiences.
*
A strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to use data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
*
Experience working with ESFA contracts and a good understanding of compliance and funding regulations.
*
A valid driving licence and a Certificate of Higher Education (or equivalent).
