About the Position
DMG Education are currently working in partnership with a secondary school in Stanford-le-Hope, Thurrock who are looking for an outstanding Head of Biology to join them from September on a permanent basis. They are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Head of Biology / Biology teacher with a passion for Biology to Lead Biology? They are looking for a Head of Biology with the skills to inspire and engage young minds? They are seeking a talented Secondary Head of Biology to join their dynamic and supportive team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on students' academic and personal growth and a fantastic role for career progression.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the Biology section within Science
* Deliver high-quality Biology lessons to students in Years 7-12.
* Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to a diverse range of learning styles and abilities.
* Monitor and assess staff & students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages staff and students to reach their full potential.
* Collaborate with Biology teachers to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Biology curriculum.
* Participate in extracurricular activities, including science clubs and competitions, to enhance students' learning experiences.
* Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to keep them informed about their child's progress and any concerns.
Qualifications and Experience
* A degree in Biology or a related field.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
* Proven experience teaching Biology at the secondary level.
* Leadership experience ideally but not essential.
* Strong subject knowledge and a deep understanding of the Biology curriculum.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn new teaching strategies.
