Head of Engineering & Grid Delivery – Energy Infrastructure
Warwick, Warwickshire
Full-time, Hybrid (4 days office, 1 remote)
Salary: £100K-£120K + Bonus + Benefits
A leading energy infrastructure company is seeking a Head of Engineering & Grid Delivery to lead the technical delivery of grid-connected assets across the UK. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role overseeing all stages of the project lifecycle—from early feasibility and grid connection planning through to operational management.
As Head of Engineering & Grid Delivery, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery and long-term performance of key energy projects that support the UK’s evolving power system.
Key Responsibilities:
* As Head of Engineering & Grid Delivery, evaluate new sites for technical and grid connection feasibility, developing high-level layouts and connection schematics.
* Oversee engineering design and tender processes to ensure competitive procurement and fit-for-purpose delivery.
* Lead the construction, commissioning, and handover of new sites, ensuring all work is completed on time, within budget, and to high technical standards.
* Manage ongoing operations, safety compliance, and maintenance for all active sites.
* Act as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP), responsible for enforcing safety rules and issuing safety documentation.
* Implement and oversee telecontrol systems for real-time monitoring and control.
* The Head of Engineering & Grid Delivery will also contribute to broader business strategy as part of the executive leadership team.
Candidate Profile:
* Degree-qualified engineer—either apprentice-trained or graduate.
* Strong track record in UK energy infrastructure, with expertise in grid connection and electrical distribution systems.
* Experience managing complex infrastructure projects from design through to operation.
* Familiarity with DNO processes and protection schemes.
* Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to lead both internal and external teams.
* As Head of Engineering & Grid Delivery, you will be a solutions-focused, practical leader capable of making sound technical decisions under pressure.
Leadership & Strategic Contribution:
