A thriving independent preparatory school in Hertfordshire are seeking a dynamic and caring Head of Pre-Prep from January 2026. This is a full time and permanent position.
This independent prep school provides a stimulating environment in which pupils can learn, grow and develop. There is a focus on providing an education that allows pupils to make the most of their abilities, interests and talents so that they will progress as confident and independent individuals, with a joy of learning. Whilst staff seek to develop the children academically and physically they also draw out virtues of kindness, generosity and compassion. This all takes place amongst first class facilities which allows an excellent and holistic education to be delivered.
The Head is recruiting a Head of Pre-Prep to lead EYFS and KS1. The successful candidate will oversee Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 with an aim to maintain excellence within the department and the strong positive relationships with parents. The successful candidate must have significant experience of teaching within EYFS and/or KS1 and is not only an excellent classroom practitioner, but has good communication and organisational skills. You will be creative, a team player and want to lead a dynamic, hardworking and friendly team. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate positive and excellent leadership skills and have had some management experience.
