Head of Science – Tenterden – £31,650 to £49,084 – Full-Time – September Start – Secondary School (Ages 11–18)
Based in Tenterden, this Head of Science role is situated in a welcoming, semi-rural area with accessible road links and onsite parking.
Starting in September 2025, this is a full-time, permanent position for an experienced Science Teacher ready to lead a dynamic department in a thriving secondary school.
Join a mixed secondary school with a strong academic track record, leading the Science team and teaching across Key Stages 3 to 5.
To be considered, you must hold UK QTS, have proven experience in teaching Science at secondary level, and ideally have held leadership or TLR responsibilities.

The Role – Head of Science
We are looking for an ambitious and driven Head of Science to lead a successful Science department in Tenterden. You will be responsible for overseeing curriculum planning, supporting staff development, tracking student progress, and promoting excellence in teaching and learning across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
You must hold UK QTS and have strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum. Leadership experience or a background in mentoring/department support will be highly valued.
You’ll be leading a team of Science teachers and technicians, teaching across KS3 to KS5, and ensuring students of all abilities are engaged and challenged.
