Job Title: Plant Manager
Salary: £75,000 per annum + Company Vehicle
Location: Nationwide – Based at one of the following depots:
Chesterfield, Newton Abbot, Ipswich, Bury, or Somerset
Overview:
We are working on behalf of a leading waste management and environmental services provider who is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead operations across a nationwide fleet of over 70 units of heavy plant and construction equipment. This is a key strategic role, with responsibility for fleet management, renewal, compliance, and maintenance across multiple depots.
You’ll be instrumental in ensuring the efficient operation, reliability, and long-term viability of the fleet, while working closely with operational teams to support site performance and availability targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations and long-term strategic planning for the national plant fleet
Lead on fleet lifecycle management, including asset renewal, disposal, and procurement
Manage and coordinate all maintenance, servicing, and compliance across sites
Collaborate with local depot teams to ensure machinery is available, fit-for-purpose, and aligned with site needs
Monitor and maintain up-to-date service records, fleet condition, and performance data
Identify opportunities for fleet improvement, upgrades, or replacementsThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar plant or heavy machinery role
Hands-on mechanical knowledge of plant and construction equipment
Strong background in fleet operations, maintenance planning, and asset management
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Organised, analytical, and proactive mindset
Willingness to travel to multiple depot locations as requiredInterested?
