HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver - Heysham Dock
Location: Heysham Dock, Lancashire
Pay: £14.50 - £16.25 per hour + £25 per night out
Contract: Temporary with potential for permanent
Start Date: Immediate
Commutable from - Lancaster - Preston - Blackpool - Kendal
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver to join us at Driver Hire Lancaster. Work would be based at Heysham Dock. This role involves depot-to-depot deliveries across the UK, with overnight stays as required. You will be responsible for transporting palletised goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Operate Class 1 (C+E) vehicles for depot-to-depot deliveries
Ensure compliance with tachograph regulations and working time directives
Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any issues
Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork
Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies
Provide excellent customer service during deliveries
Stay overnight as required, with additional payments provided for nights out
Requirements
Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
Minimum of 1 year of Class 1 driving experience
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph cards
No more than 6 penalty points on your licence (minor offences only)
Ability to work nights away from home comfortably
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
Self-motivated and able to work independently
