Job Description
We are seeking a experienced HGV Class 2 Skip Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations using chain skips. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to traffic regulations while ensuring timely deliveries. Candidates with experience in commercial driving, particularly with skip vehicles, will be highly regarded.
Duties
* Operate chain skip lorries in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
* Load and unload skips, ensuring that it is secured properly for transport.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery logs and receipts.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
* Follow all safety protocols and company policies while on the road.
* Assist in the maintenance of the vehicle by reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Qualifications
* Valid commercial driving licence is essential.
* Proven experience as a HGV Class 2 Skip driver or in a similar role is preferred.
* Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy loads when necessary.
