Job Title: HGV Mechanic
Location: Leyland
Role Overview:
Maintain and repair a fleet of vehicles and grounds maintenance equipment, ensuring compliance with DVSA standards and the Operator's Licence.
Key Responsibilities:
Service, maintain, and repair vehicles, plant, and equipment.
Perform diagnostics and specialist repairs.
Attend roadside breakdowns and recover vehicles.
Maintain accurate service records.
Keep the workshop clean and safe.
Order parts and liaise with suppliers.
Adhere to Health & Safety regulations.
Support apprentices and participate in training.
Engage professionally with the public.
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
Experience in fabrication, welding, and cutting.
Team & Organisational Expectations:
Collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Support inclusive and respectful workplace culture.
Comply with GDPR, equality, and safety policies.
Represent the organisation positively.
Requirements:
Full driving licence with category C1.
Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and diagnostics.
Strong planning, organisation, and adaptability.
Commitment to flexible working and customer service.
Qualified to Level 3 in Heavy Vehicles Maintenance
