We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to work for a busy Waste Management company based in Oxfordshire.
Working Hours:
Average 45 hours per week over a two-week cycle:
Week 1: Monday to Friday, 5:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Week 2: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, plus Saturday mornings, 5:30 AM - 10:30 AMJob Overview:
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining a mixed fleet of rigid and articulated vehicles to high standards, adhering to DVSA requirements. You will work within a team to ensure all vehicles are in top condition, performing tasks such as addressing daily defects, conducting service maintenance, preparing new vehicles (including EVs), and handling MOTs.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare new vehicles, including electric vehicles (EVs), for service.
Maintain and repair a mixed fleet of rigid and articulated vehicles.
Conduct service maintenance, inspections, and MOTs in line with DVSA regulations.
Diagnose and rectify daily defects and perform general repairs.
Maintain accurate records of services, repairs, and inspections.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.Training and Development:
Training will be provided to achieve IMI Level 4 (Electric Vehicle Course) and IRTEC Large Vehicle Inspection qualification.
Manufacturer body training courses for a wide range of equipment types will be offered.
No HGV licence? Full training will be provided to obtain it.What You'll Need:
Essential: Experience working with large goods vehicles.
Preferred: City & Guilds HGV Parts 1, 2 & 3 or NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
If you lack formal qualifications, 10 years of experience working on HGV vehicles is required.Benefits & Perks:
