Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our HGV fleet, ensuring all vehicles operate safely and efficiently. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of vehicle maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on a variety of HGVs, ensuring compliance with DVSA standards.
Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify faults efficiently.
MOT Preparation: Prepare vehicles for MOT tests, ensuring all necessary repairs and adjustments are made.
Emergency Repairs: Provide on-road assistance for breakdowns and emergency repairs as needed.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work conducted, including completing job cards and service sheets.
Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage workshop inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary parts and tools.
Qualifications and Experience:
Technical Certification: NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience as an HGV Technician, with a proven track record of working on a diverse range of HGVs.
Licenses: A valid Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) driving license is preferred.
Technical Proficiency: Strong diagnostic skills and familiarity with modern diagnostic equipment.
Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
