Become a Leading Voice in Historical Inquiry: Teacher of History at an Outstanding Havering School (September 2025 - Including A-Level)
More than just a teaching position, this is an opportunity to become an integral part of a warm, welcoming, and highly supportive academic community at our Outstanding school located in the suburban borough of Havering, London. We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Teacher of History to join us in September 2025, someone who is not only passionate about their subject but also deeply invested in the intellectual development and critical thinking skills of our students across Key Stage 3 and, importantly, Key Stage 4 and 5.
As a member of our team, commencing in September 2025, with a significant contribution to A-Level teaching, you will:
* Nurture Historical Inquiry: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and empowered to explore the complexities of the past across all key stages, reflecting the local and global historical connections relevant to the Havering area.
* Collaborate with Dedicated Humanities Professionals: Work alongside a team of passionate and experienced educators who are committed to a shared vision of academic excellence and student success in History and other humanities disciplines, including the delivery of a high-quality A-Level History curriculum.
* Contribute to a Positive Ethos: Embrace our school's inclusive and collaborative culture, where every member of staff is valued and their contributions to the intellectual life of the school are recognized within the Havering community.
* Make a Real Difference: Have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students and guide them on their journey to becoming critical thinkers, informed citizens, and engaged analysts of the past, particularly as they progress through their A-Level studies.
* Enjoy a Supportive Work Environment: Benefit from a leadership team that prioritizes staff well-being, provides excellent professional development opportunities in History pedagogy, and fosters a strong sense of community within our Havering school and the Humanities department, with specific support for A-Level teaching and enrichment opportunities.
We are looking for a qualified History teacher who is not only an excellent practitioner but also a caring and supportive individual with a passion for fostering a deep understanding of the past in a suburban environment like Havering, with the ability to inspire and challenge A-Level students. If you are seeking a school within Havering where you can truly make a difference in the lives of young people through History, including significant Key Stage 5 involvement, and feel a strong sense of belonging within a thriving department, we would be thrilled to hear from you for a September 2025 start.
Shape the next generation of historical thinkers in Havering – a key role with A-Level teaching awaits, starting September 2025
