Join a leading national charity and play a vital role in supporting vulnerable individuals to maintain their tenancies, gain independence, and move on to more stable housing.
THE ROLE
We are recruiting for a Housing Support Worker in Colchester to deliver person-centred housing-related support and tenancy management across 3–4 properties, supporting a caseload of over 10 service users.
Develop and implement personalised Support and Safety Plans
Deliver a minimum of two hours weekly 1-1 support per service user
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using internal systems
Identify and report anti-social behaviour and ensure property standards are upheld
Work in partnership with external agencies including The Probation Service
Support service users with life skills and practical domestic tasks
Maximise rent collection and ensure benefit claims are managed effectively
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role supporting vulnerable adults in a housing or supported living setting.
Experience managing a caseload and developing support plans
Strong understanding of housing management and benefits processes
Ability to work collaboratively with external partners and agencies
Confident in lone working and using own initiative
Holds a valid driving licence, has access to a vehicle, and valid business insurance
THE CONTRACT
40 working hours per week, with 35 hours paid and 5 hours unpaid lunch breaks.
The role includes occasional Saturday working with a day off in lieu (Monday).
Shift patterns include 8am–4pm and 2pm–10pm.
This is a 3-month temporary contract with potential to become permanent.
The pay for the role is £19.28 per hour LTD company rate.
The PAYE equivalent is £16.54 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
