HVAC Technician – Defence & Mission Support Operations
Location: Japan, Remote/Deployment-Based (with potential international deployments)
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to provide essential support for mission-critical operations in complex and remote environments. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of climate control systems in challenging conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems across defence and humanitarian support sites, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Conduct routine inspections of HVAC systems to identify potential mechanical or electrical issues.
Diagnose faults and malfunctions, performing repairs and component replacements as necessary to restore system functionality.
Ensure HVAC systems meet safety and operational standards, adhering to international safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Provide climate control solutions for personnel and sensitive equipment, ensuring comfort and operational effectiveness.
Monitor system performance, conduct regular testing, and adjust settings to ensure optimal environmental conditions.
Collaborate with the support team to troubleshoot and resolve HVAC-related issues quickly, minimizing downtime.
Qualifications & Experience
Language Requirements: Ability to speak Japanese is highly desirable.
Certification: Must hold a valid local HVAC technician license.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with HVAC systems, ideally in expeditionary or austere settings.
Technical Qualifications: A recognized technical qualification in HVAC systems is required.
Prior Experience: Experience supporting defence contracts or humanitarian missions is highly preferred.
Deployment Readiness: Must be prepared for international deployments and able to work in remote, high-pressure environments.
Clearance: Candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance for deployment in sensitive environments.
Skills & Competencies
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems under challenging conditions.
Excellent understanding of HVAC systems, including mechanical, electrical, and environmental considerations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team in fast-paced and high-stakes environments.
Knowledge of international safety standards and environmental regulations governing HVAC systems.
Flexibility and adaptability in managing the dynamic challenges of mission support operations.
