Junior CAD Technician – Mechanical Building Services
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 (depending on qualifications and experience)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Junior CAD Technician to support our busy Mechanical Design Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience working on a variety of mechanical projects, with career growth, training, and development available.
This hybrid role will involve working from our Chelmsford office at least three days a week, with the option to work from home the remaining two days.
Key Responsibilities;
* Assist in the preparation of detailed mechanical drawings and layouts from specifications and sketches.
* Create 2D and 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and as-built documentation.
* Collaborate closely with design engineers and project teams to ensure accuracy and alignment with requirements.
* Upload documentation and drawings to our project management systems.
* Conduct site surveys and produce mechanical record drawings.
* Review and verify drawing compliance with project specifications and standards.
* Maintain up-to-date technical project documentation.
What We’re Looking For;
* Previous experience as a CAD Technician in a mechanical engineering, fabrication, or machining environment.
* Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines across multiple projects.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a hands-on approach.
