An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior / Trainee Buyer to join a well-established civil engineering and utilities contractor. The role will involve supporting day-to-day procurement activities, working closely with project teams and suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services for ongoing operations.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotations for materials and equipment.
• Coordinate with project teams to confirm material and plant requirements.
• Process purchase orders and track deliveries.
• Resolve supplier queries and manage invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain procurement records and update cost reports.
Requirements:
• Basic knowledge of construction materials and procurement processes is beneficial.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with procurement or purchase order systems is an advantage.
