Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting machines to fabricate high-quality components from sheet metal. This role requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with various hand tools. The Laser Operator will play a crucial part in ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities
* Operate laser cutting machines to produce precision components from sheet metal.
* Fabricate parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
* Use hand tools and tooling equipment for assembly and finishing processes.
* Perform routine maintenance on laser equipment to ensure optimal performance.
* Grind and clean edges of cut materials to meet quality standards.
* Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Conduct basic maths calculations for measurements and material requirements.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in operating laser cutting machines or similar equipment is preferred.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings.
* Familiarity with welding processes and techniques is an advantage.
* Proficient in using hand tools and tooling equipment effectively.
* Experience in fabricating components from sheet metal is desirable.
* Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
