We're seeking experienced and enthusiastic EC&I Engineers to join a high-performing team delivering complex engineering projects across the energy, renewables, utilities, and manufacturing sectors.
You'll be involved in designing and implementing electrical and control systems for high-integrity environments such as thermal and hydro power generation. From control panel design to field cabling solutions and system integration, you'll have the opportunity to contribute at every stage of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor project teams, ensuring engineering design excellence and compliance.
Review and approve detailed system designs, including schematics, wiring diagrams, MCCs, drives, and switchgear.
Perform site surveys, develop design solutions, and collaborate closely with customers on-site.
Produce and manage key documentation including Functional Design Specs, test plans, and O&M manuals.
Support commissioning, client acceptance testing, and handover.
Contribute to bid preparation and cost estimation for new projects.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong background in control systems design within energy, utilities, or similar sectors.
Proficiency in field cabling systems, including routing, sizing, earthing, and protection.
Demonstrable experience with PLC-based control panels (e.g. I/O, comms cards, UPS integration).
Degree in Electrical Engineering (or HND with 6+ years’ experience in relevant field).
Skilled in AutoCAD, MS Word, and Excel.
Knowledge of the full project lifecycle and relevant regulatory standards.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to undergo security checks.
Desirable Skills
Experience with major PLC platforms such as:
Rockwell (ControlLogix)
Siemens (PCS7, TIA Portal)
Schneider (M580, M340)
Commissioning and installation experience.
Familiarity with BS7671, DSEAR, Hazardous Areas, Functional Safety (IEC 61508/61511).
Knowledge of Motor Control Centres (MCCs) and procurement.
Comfortable working to strict deadlines and within budget
