Job Title: Lead Technical Safety Engineer
Location: Qatar (Office of UK-based Company)
Salary: Housing Allowance + School Allowance + Travel Allowance

Primary Responsibilities:
Extensive Experience: Demonstrate deep expertise in Technical Safety, Risk and Loss Prevention, and RAM studies.
Leadership in Safety Workshops: Proven experience in leading and participating in formal safety workshops, such as HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL/LOPA studies.
Risk Studies Execution: Skilled in executing risk studies such as QRA, FERA, and EERA, with proficiency in risk-based design and ALARP demonstration.
Loss Prevention Design: Expertise in Loss Prevention design, which includes Active and Passive Fire Protection, Blast Protection, F&G Systems, Hazardous Area Classification, and the creation of design drawings.
Regulatory Understanding: Strong understanding of the UK regulatory framework, including the development of Safety Case and COMAH documentation.
Broad Project Environment: A keen interest in growing within a broad project environment, utilizing a creative approach to problem-solving and technical challenges.
Minimum Qualifications:
Engineering Degree or Master’s in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 15 years’ experience, with most of that time spent with consultancies or operators in the upstream oil & gas sector.
Safety Engineering and Technical Integrity experience within a major oil & gas organization.
Functional Safety Certification and HAZOP Leader certification are highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of industry standards and guidelines related to safety engineering.
Expertise in scenario-based risk assessments, QRA, FERA, SECE identification, performance standards, and barrier development.
Experience in Digitalisation in the context of safety engineering.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.

Leadership: Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and projects, ensuring the effective delivery of safety-critical objectives.
Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of safety engineering and risk management, particularly in the oil & gas sector.
Advisory Services: Experience in providing high-level advisory services to clients on technical safety and risk management.
Problem-Solving: Proficient in identifying technical challenges and proposing solutions in complex safety engineering environments.
Collaboration: Effective at working with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders, ensuring that safety requirements are understood and integrated across all project phasesBefore You Apply
