Role Overview
I am seeking a proactive Learning and Development Manager to shape and lead our talent development strategy. This role will focus on building internal capabilities, improving employee engagement and retention, and establishing a structured approach to learning across the organisation. The successful candidate will oversee training initiatives, manage L&D budgets, and lead the rollout of our internal learning academy.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Strategy Development: Design and implement learning strategies aligned with business goals to strengthen organisational capability and support employee retention.
Training Program Creation: Develop a range of learning initiatives, including e-learning, workshops, and structured pathways, to support career progression and skill development.
Performance Evaluation: Measure training impact and effectiveness through feedback, performance metrics, and continuous improvement.
Budget & Vendor Oversight: Manage L&D budgets and liaise with third-party training providers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
Skills Matrix & Capability Mapping: Build and maintain a company-wide skills inventory to identify development needs and inform strategic planning.
Learning Academy Leadership: Lead the setup and day-to-day operation of the internal training academy, ensuring quality, accreditation, and alignment with business needs.
Succession Planning: Work cross-functionally to implement succession plans and create clear development pathways across the organisation.
Apprenticeship Program Management: Design and oversee a group-wide apprenticeship programme in partnership with external providers.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Demonstrated success in leading L&D initiatives, ideally within a technology or fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Expertise in instructional design, digital learning, and learning impact assessment.
Strong project management skills with experience overseeing budgets and supplier relationships.
Practical knowledge of setting up internal academies or structured learning frameworks.
Experience in implementing succession planning and talent development strategies.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Familiarity with apprenticeships and early-career development programs is a plus.
