Job Description

Learning Mentor (SEN) Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Are you looking for a dynamic and rewarding role where you can utilize your skills and experience? Philosophy Education is working with a Secondary School based in Ealing and is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Learning Mentor to join our team. The school's Philosophy Education represents an Outstanding mainstream secondary school that is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all our students. The school staff is dedicated to ensuring that every student receives the individual attention and support they need to thrive. The Role: SEN Learning Mentors can improve the academic standard of students they are selected to work with in the following three major curriculum subjects: English Literature, Mathematics, or Biology, Physics, and Chemistry (KS3-4). The Ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with additional needs that may be social-emotional and Mental Health needs.  You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans. Your main responsibilities will include: - Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs. - Developing and implementing strategies to help students manage their emotions and behaviour. - Supporting students in their academic, social, and personal development. - Helping students get ready to take up and coming exams  - Collaborating with teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. - Monitoring and assessing students' progress and adjusting support plans as needed. Requirements: - Experience working with secondary age pupils, ideally within mainstream or special school. - Graduate background or Tuition background   - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. - Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude. - A commitment to promoting equality and inclusion. Desirable: - Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH support. - Experience working in a secondary school setting.
