Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team for an immediate start. If you have a passion for supporting students in their educational journey and helping them achieve their full potential, this is the role for you!
This exciting opportunity is ideal for those with a caring nature, who are keen to make a difference in the lives of students, both academically and emotionally. The LSA will play a pivotal role in assisting class teachers and supporting students who may need extra help in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with a range of learning needs, ensuring they are engaged and motivated.
Assist the classroom teacher with implementing personalised learning strategies and plans for students.
Help students access the curriculum effectively, ensuring they are able to participate fully in lessons.
Support students in developing their social, emotional, and behavioural skills in a positive and inclusive environment.
Encourage independence and self-confidence in students, promoting a growth mindset and resilience.
Assist with classroom management and support the teacher in creating a productive and welcoming learning environment.
Support students during break times and lunchtime, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Help with any additional duties as required by the school, including classroom preparation and administrative tasks.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Previous experience working with children or young adults, particularly in an educational setting, is highly desirable but not essential.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with students of varying ages and abilities.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with students, particularly those who may require extra support.
The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to deliver the best learning outcomes for students.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Ideally, a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or a background in a related field (such as child development or special education), though training can be provided for the right candidate.
