Job Description
Smile Education are proud to be working in partnership with one of our long-standing, inclusive SEND settings in Walsall, who are currently recruiting several Learning Support Assistants to join their dedicated team this September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with young people aged 16–25, all of whom have a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities. You will be part of a supportive and professional team committed to ensuring every student has equal access to education and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide in-class support, ensuring students can access the curriculum effectively.
Support students with personal care, when required.
Assist during lunchtime periods and help maintain a calm, safe environment.
Attend student support meetings and contribute to personalised learning plans.
Meet and greet students from transport in the morning, and assist them at the end of the day.
Be willing to work across up to three different sites, depending on student placement.Essential Requirements:
Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Childcare or Education (unqualified candidates will not be considered).
UK-based experience supporting students with SEND.
Confident supporting students with a range of additional needs.
Comfortable providing personal care.
Able to work independently and as part of a wider support team.
Recent, relevant experience (within the last 2 years) supporting students with SEND.
Able to provide two professional references covering at least the past two years.
Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain a new one.What We Offer:
