Job Title: Lighting Electrician Location: Reading / High Wycombe Contract Type: Permanent Working Hours: 40 Hours Per Week (Hours typically 6am – 2.30pm with flexibility) Salary: £35,768.18 Total Salary (Inclusive of Standby Payment (1:4 x 13 Periods) + Overtime + Travel Time + great company benefits detailed below!! An exciting opportunity has emerged for a skilled Lighting Electrician to join our company to work with one of our major UK supermarket clients. The role will involve the successful candidate being responsible for the lighting planned maintenance and emergency repair work in approximately 100+ retail stores to pre-determined standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the company Health and Safety policy. Key Responsibilities: * To respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as and where necessary. * To complete the PPM schedules within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures. * To identify non-repairable faults in lighting equipment and promptly advise the Area Maintenance Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement. * To advise the Store Manager of any repair and maintenance issues relating to lighting that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store. * Monitor and update the system including live job updates Qualifications / Experience: Essential * NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds 236 Part 1 & 2 Electrical Installation - essential * City & Guilds 18th Edition – essential * Basic knowledge of installation of lighting in stores, e.g. cable glands, conduits, track, light density and spread, cable types and loadings – essential The ideal candidate: * Full driving license * Ability to maintain/repair the full range of lighting equipment in a store to recognised standards, e.g. filament, fluorescent, mercury vapour, sodium, low voltage, car park * Ability to locate electrical feeds to lighting systems and follow safe isolation procedures pre and post works * Ability to mark up distribution legends within supply boards if required * Ability to work at heights and competent in the use of steps and ladders. * Ability to distinguish colours to the standard required for lighting. * Degree of flexibility required. Will be required to stay away from home occasionally. * Willingness to work flexible hours. Night shift may be required.
