Location : Darlington Borough Council Pay Rate : £28.96 Team: Looked After Children Team Role : Full Time Darlington Borough Council's Looked After Children Team is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to providing high-quality support and advocacy for children in care, ensuring their safety, well-being, and positive outcomes. About the Role and Responsibilities: Direct Support and Advocacy: Provide direct support and advocacy to children in care, ensuring their needs are met and they have access to the best possible care and support. Care Planning: Work collaboratively with children, their families, foster carers, and other professionals to create individualised care plans. Child-Centered Approach: Maintain a child-centered approach, ensuring children's voices are heard and their rights are respected. Building Positive Relationships: Promote positive relationships and build trust and stability for children in care. Supporting Children's Potential: Support children in care to achieve their full potential, by facilitating access to educational, social, and personal development opportunities. Caseload Management: Manage a caseload of children in care, ensuring their needs are met and they receive appropriate support. Collaboration with Agencies: Work closely with families, children, foster carers, and other agencies, such as schools and health services, to deliver effective and timely interventions. Accurate Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines. Team Contribution: Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the team's service delivery. Advocacy: Represent the needs of children in care, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected.Key Requirements: Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent). Social Care England registration. Updated DBS check. Experience working with looked after children and their families. Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance related to supporting children in care. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills. Ability to build rapport with children, families, and other professionals.
