M&E Quantity Surveyor

Sphere Solutions are currently recruiting for an M&E Quantity Surveyor, to work for a large contractor on the Velindre Cancer centre in Cardiff.
As a Quantity Surveyor – M&E, you’ll play a pivotal role in our mission to create a state-of-the-art cancer centre. The Quantity Surveyor will support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects and enhancing our culture of innovation. The role holder will manage contract administration, risk management and negotiation effectively to deliver the agreed profitability and cash projections, informing line management and seeking guidance as and when required.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Communicate and liaise with M&E sub-contractors..
* Ensure commercial compliance of current contracts, protecting the position of the company.
* Report to Lead Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager/ Project Director and other appropriate stakeholders about the subcontract status, including updating Sacyr cost control platform as required.
* Assist the rest of the Commercial Department when required, participating in procurement, contract administration, variations and work packages management.
* Quantity take-off.
* Assist with monthly work in progress reports in conjunction with Commercial Manager / Project Director.
* Manage delegated resources (e.g., budgets, equipment, and contracts) as appropriate, to ensure value for money.
Essential criteria
* Right to work in the UK
* Minimum BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
* 4 years post graduate experience in a similar role
* Previous NEC contract experience (NEC3 or NEC4 option C)
OR
* 8 years’ experience in a similar role
* Excellent time management and organisation ability combined with good problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively analyse and communicate complex ideas and information to a range of audiences and stakeholders.
* Familiar with IT software in particular the Microsoft suite; to include Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Word.
