Job Description
An experienced Maintenance and Engineering Manager is required to join a world-leading aluminium extrusion company. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will ensure optimal equipment availability throughout the plant. Your responsibilities as Maintenance and Engineering Manager will include facilitating excellent communication between maintenance, other departments, sister companies and suppliers, ensuring high standards in organisation and attention to detail.
Successful candidates for the role of Maintenance and Engineering Manager will have extensive experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment, technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, strong leadership abilities and a commitment to maintaining safety and precision in all aspects of their work. Offered as a permanent contract with a competitive salary and extensive benefits, the position of Maintenance and Engineering Manager is available for an immediate start.
Duties/responsibilities of Maintenance and Engineering Manager include:
* Analyse press stops with IMPEX and amend preventive plans accordingly to keep the production line stops below the set target
* Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations across the department
* Actively participate in resolving risk assessment actions, risk engineering recommendations, general incident, failure and event (IFE) cases
* Document all relevant activities and actions within the Integrated Management System (IMS)
* Plan and monitor contractors working in maintenance duties
* Manage your team on a daily basis to include staff welfare, training, absence management, communication, performance management and upskilling of your team
* Identify, plan and execute re-engineering solutions focused on continuous improvements working with the different production departments
* Plan and organise Capital Expenditure Projects
* Ensures equipment inspections are carried out according to the group recommendation/expectations and all legal requirements are met
* Implement and control spare parts procedure and strategy
* Ensure the preventive maintenance plan is updated and executed; by ensuring tasks are completed and all resources are in place
* Adheres to the maintenance budget assigned by the business plan
* Prepare and plan all maintenance shutdown activities
* Design the weekly preventive plans together with the team in alignment with production requirements
* Ensuring all maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard
Skills required by Maintenance and Engineering Manager:
* Leading and motivating a team of maintenance staff for – 5 years’ experience essential
* Understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
* Quickly diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions
* Facilitating clear communication between departments and external partners
* Skills in managing schedules, budgets and maintenance records efficiently
* Prioritising safety protocols and procedures
Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00 am – 5.00 pm (40 hours) Flexibility required
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 p.a. dependent upon experience
