Maintenance & Projects Manager
Location: Greenogue, Dublin Area
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary & Benefits: Competitive salary, company car, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with flexible start and finish times to suit your schedule.
Remote Work: 1-2 days per fortnight
Travel Requirements: Regular travel to various site locations across Ireland, with occasional travel across Europe for project oversight and coordination
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance & Projects Manager to join a dynamic and rapidly growing organisation in the waste management and recycling industry. This role will primarily oversee the maintenance operations and management of various engineering projects, with an emphasis on ensuring the smooth operation of the facility and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in both maintenance management and project coordination, with the ability to lead critical initiatives and oversee day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for the strategic management of maintenance activities, CAPEX project delivery, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Management: Oversee the planning and execution of maintenance schedules to ensure efficient plant operations and minimal downtime.
Project Management: Manage and coordinate engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards.
Health & Safety Compliance: Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations across the site.
Operational Support: Collaborate with teams to improve production efficiency, reduce downtime, and contribute to ongoing operational improvements.
People & Training: Oversee and coordinate the subcontracted maintenance team, ensuring they receive the appropriate training and development to maintain high performance standards and a skilled, motivated workforce.Essential Experience & Skills
Demonstrated success in managing maintenance and engineering operations across industries such as manufacturing, production, waste management, recycling, or industrial services. Experience in optimising processes and driving operational efficiencies is key.
Strong background in successfully delivering CAPEX projects from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and with a focus on long-term sustainability.
A natural leader with a passion for fostering a safety-first culture, driving continuous improvement, and motivating teams to achieve the highest standards of performance.
In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a proven track record of ensuring site-wide compliance, managing risk, and maintaining a safe working environment.Desirable Experience & Qualifications
Engineering Qualification or equivalent, providing a solid technical foundation for the role.
Project Management Certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP), demonstrating your ability to manage large-scale projects effectively.
Ideally, you'll bring experience from industries such as waste management, recycling, manufacturing, production, or facilities management. However, cross-industry expertise and a drive to apply best practices from one sector to another is highly valued.About the Company
