Management Accountant – Up to £60,000 | On-Site – Derby | Clear Path to Head of Finance

We’re on the lookout for a Management Accountant to join our client’s dynamic team in Derby, with a clear route to Head of Finance within 2 years. This is a rare opportunity for a finance professional ready to step into a broader leadership role, gain strategic exposure, and fast-track their career in a growing business.
Key responsibilities….
• Own the month-end reporting process including P&L prep, journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Lead cashflow management, monthly reconciliations, and inter company recharges.
• Maintain core financial systems: Sales & Purchase Ledgers, Fixed Asset Register, and Cash Book.
• Oversee Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, and Supplier Payment Runs.
• Support and review payroll including year-end payroll reporting (P60s, P11Ds).
• Assist with year-end accounts, tax returns, budgets, forecasts, and rolling forecasts.
• Lead a small finance team (2 direct reports), driving training, support, and development.
• Identify opportunities to improve controls and processes, and champion best practices.
• Act as a key liaison with senior management and Head Office stakeholders.
What we’re looking for….
• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
• Strong communicator with experience working alongside senior leadership.
• Able to thrive under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines
• Skilled in ERP systems (NetSuite a plus) and advanced Excel.
• A natural leader who enjoys coaching and developing teams.
Passionate about improvement, control, and delivering value beyond the numbers.
