Job Description
Are you a numbers-savvy professional with a passion for turning financial data into strategic insights? I am looking for a proactive Management Accountant to join an established finance team and take ownership of delivering accurate reports, insightful analysis, and hands-on support across a dynamic business. This is more than just a number-crunching role — it’s a chance to work closely with senior leaders, support decision-making, and help shape the financial health of the business.
Job role
* Prepare and deliver detailed management accounts — full packs with commentary — for a major trading entity and a smaller company within the group.
* Produce daily and weekly labour cost reports, liaising with production and analysing sales data to understand variances.
* Manage multi-currency bank reconciliations and ensure VAT submissions are completed accurately and on time.
* Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and ensure correct depreciation.
* Reconcile intercompany accounts and assist with turnover declarations for credit insurers.
* Provide payroll support during holidays or absences (weekly & monthly cycles).
* Collaborate on financial analysis and reporting for senior management.
* Support other finance functions (Accounts Payable & Receivable) as needed.
* Assist in preparing for external audits.
Requirements
* AAT qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent experience).
* Solid background in a similar accounting or finance role.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles (accruals, prepayments, double entry).
* Confident with financial statements and their purpose in driving business decisions.
* Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, IF/HLOOKUP statements).
* Experience using Sage 200, QuickBooks, Sage 50 Payroll, and paperless systems.
* Highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable managing competing deadlines.
