Job Description

About the Company The company is a specialist construction recruitment partner with over 20 years of expertise in white-collar roles across main contracting, specialist contracting, and residential development sectors. What makes them different is how they treat each career as if it were their own. They provide guidance that helps both professionals advance their careers and helps their clients build stronger teams. They're not just filling jobs—they're building successful careers. They build lasting relationships with both job seekers and employers. For candidates, they find opportunities that match their long-term goals, considering both their skills and how they'll fit with a company's culture. For clients, they use their deep industry knowledge to provide smart hiring advice and find the right people who will help their business grow. This approach has made them a trusted partner in the construction industry, known for consistently delivering value and supporting ongoing success. The Opportunity They are looking for a Managing Consultant to join their team and work directly with their MD and founder, who brings 20 years of construction industry experience. This leadership role gives the candidate the chance to help grow their business while building and overseeing a team and working with their established and focused client base. As a Managing Consultant, the candidate will balance their own desk responsibilities with team leadership duties. They'll grow and manage a diverse team of resourcers, consultants, and senior consultants while handling the full recruitment process, building strategic relationships with clients and candidates, and ensuring their developed team meets its performance goals. This dual focus requires excellent people management skills alongside strong recruitment expertise. Being part of their growing company means the position will naturally develop over time. There's a clear path for progression to divisional and director-level roles. The successful candidate will gain valuable leadership experience while taking on increasing responsibility in a company that values their contribution and supports their career growth. Requirements To succeed in this role, candidates should have significant experience as a Senior Consultant with team leadership responsibilities or be ready to step up into a management position. They will have a proven track record in recruitment, whether their focus has been on permanent, temporary, or contract placements. Experience in construction recruitment is also required. The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running within their area of sector expertise and be capable of building and developing their desk independently, without the need for immediate training and ongoing support. Being self-motivated, an effective coach, and able to manage both their time and a team's priorities are essential skills for this position. They should also demonstrate strong leadership abilities to inspire and develop others, excellent negotiation skills, and the capacity to perform under pressure to meet team targets and deadlines. This opportunity offers substantial rewards for the right person, including excellent earning potential and career advancement. If they're enthusiastic about the construction sector and value teamwork and creative thinking, they could be perfect for this team. The company is looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas to help grow their business while maintaining the high standards and commitment to excellence that they are known for. Rewards and Benefits For this role, they are offering a competitive salary between £40,000 and £55,000, plus a generous uncapped commission structure that rewards personal success. Their team enjoys flexible working options that help balance professional and personal life. They're also committed to career development, offering training and support to help grow skills and progress their teams' careers. This includes potential opportunities for promotions for those who demonstrate strong performance
