An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and dynamic Maths Lecturer to join a further education college based in West London. This full-time role involves teaching GCSE and A Level Mathematics, including Further Mathematics and Statistics. Key Responsibilities Programme Design and Delivery
Plan and deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across a variety of maths courses, including GCSE, A Level, Further Mathematics, and Statistics.
Develop comprehensive schemes of work, detailed lesson plans, and effective teaching resources.
Utilise digital tools and learning technologies to enrich the student learning experience.
Where appropriate, integrate the teaching of key and core skills within the curriculum.
Prepare structured assessment plans, mark work promptly, and provide constructive feedback to support student progress.
Foster the development of students' core academic abilities and essential skills.Student Recruitment
Represent the department at open days, taster sessions, and other recruitment activities.
Provide clear, accurate, and supportive guidance to prospective learners and their families.
Conduct applicant interviews and contribute to the admissions process.
Assist in the creation and promotion of marketing materials to support student recruitment.Induction and Learner Support
Lead and support comprehensive induction activities for new students.
Prepare course handbooks and maintain up-to-date learner documentation.
Conduct regular academic progress reviews and provide ongoing pastoral support.
Act as a personal tutor where appropriate, supporting students' attendance, engagement, and achievement.
Refer students to learning support and other relevant services as needed.
Ensure teaching materials and resources remain current and accessible for learners.Curriculum and Team Contribution
Actively participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and cross-college initiatives.
Maintain accurate records including attendance registers, assessment data, and learner files.
Offer guidance and support to new or less experienced colleagues.
Engage fully with performance review and staff development processes.Quality and Continuous Improvement
Gather and respond to student feedback to continually improve teaching practice.
Contribute to curriculum development, self-assessment reports, and quality improvement planning.
Help the department meet key performance indicators including student achievement, retention, and attendance.Professional Conduct

Person Specification Essential Criteria:
A degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards obtaining one.
Proven experience teaching Maths at both GCSE and A Level.
Strong organisational, communication, and IT skills.
A commitment to delivering inclusive, high-quality education and supporting student success.Desirable Criteria:
Experience teaching Further Mathematics.
Familiarity with FE sector frameworks and quality standards.
