Full-Time Teacher of Maths Required - Outstanding Tower Hamlets School (September 2025 Start)
Our Outstanding school in the vibrant and diverse borough of Tower Hamlets, London, seeks a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Teacher of Maths to join our thriving Mathematics department and make a real difference to the numeracy skills and mathematical understanding of our students across all Key Stages, commencing in September 2025.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective Maths lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of our students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, reflecting the multicultural richness of Tower Hamlets.
* Developing students' skills in numeracy, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability, fostering a love of mathematical reasoning and problem-solving.
* Assessing and tracking student progress in Mathematics, providing constructive feedback, and implementing effective intervention strategies where necessary.
* Contributing to the development, implementation, and review of the Mathematics curriculum, ensuring alignment with the National Curriculum and relevant examination specifications.
* Utilizing and contributing to the development of high-quality Maths resources, including digital tools and practical applications relevant to the urban context of Tower Hamlets.
* Contributing to extracurricular activities that promote mathematical thinking and problem-solving within the school community (e.g., maths clubs, competitions).
* Collaborating effectively with colleagues within the Maths department and across the wider school to foster a rich and interdisciplinary learning environment.
* Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice and keep abreast of current developments in mathematics pedagogy.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A degree in Mathematics or a closely related field.
* Successful experience teaching Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with experience in Key Stage 5 being advantageous.
* A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for Mathematics and relevant examination specifications.
* Excellent pedagogical skills and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners in a diverse urban environment like Tower Hamlets.
* A passion for mathematics and the ability to inspire students and foster their logical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* A commitment to the safeguarding and well-being of students and the promotion of numeracy and mathematical understanding within the Tower Hamlets community.
