Job Description
Are you an ambitious Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in Mechanical & Electrical projects, eager to take your career to the next level?
TwentyOne Build is excited to offer an exceptional opportunity to join a highly respected Building Services Contractor, renowned for its commitment to delivering high quality work across Scotland.
In this pivotal role, you'll report directly to the Head of Commercial within the Edinburgh office, playing an instrumental part in the commercial management and financial success of diverse, impactful projects.
Your skills will be pivotal in not only managing costs effectively but also driving strategic procurement initiatives and delivering accurate cost reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advising on procurement strategies
* Review contract conditions and report on concerns or recommendations
* Assist in reviewing and negotiating agreement of contract documents
* Preparing subcontract documents and procurement of subcontractors
* Managing costs on Mechanical & Electrical projects across various sectors
* Undertaking cost value analysis, including cost value reporting
* Provide commercial advice to the operational team
* Assist senior management with the preparation of contractual claims
Required Experience:
* At least 5 years working on Mechanical & Electrical projects within the QS role
* Project experience within Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Student Accommodation or Historical sectors would be a great match
* Ability to deal with projects of up to £5m
* A Quantity Surveying qualification (HND/HNC/Degree)
* Practical experience of various forms of contracts e.g. NEC, JCT or SBCC
