Introduction:
Our client, a leading provider of engineering services to heavy industry sectors such as Energy, Refinery, Aggregates, and Utilities, is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This exciting opportunity is based at the head office in Brentwood and involves covering various sites across the UK. If you have experience in heavy engineering, a strong knowledge of rotating equipment, and a hands-on approach, we want to hear from you!
What's on Offer:
Salary: £34,000 to £47,000, depending on experience
Uncapped overtime and Annual Bonus
28 days holiday + Bank holidays

Key Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on rotating equipment, including large turbines and a range of pumps
Conduct maintenance on auxiliary and balance of plant (BOP) equipment
Use measuring equipment such as micrometers and alignment tooling
Complete both workshop and field service activities, including detailed reports on findings, condition assessments, and recommendations
Diagnose and resolve mechanical equipment issues in heavy engineering sectors
Perform fault finding, defect repairs, and routine maintenance on commercial and heavy industry machinery
Assist in leading planned projects and outages as required
Manage work schedules efficiently
Experience Required:
Mechanical qualifications such as ONC, HNC, NVQ, or equivalent are essential
Proven experience in fault finding, repair, installation, and commissioning
Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
A full, preferably clean, driving license is essential
Relevant knowledge and experience in heavy engineering sectors, particularly power generation, prime movers, and BOP
OEM pump or turbine experience and a strong background in rotating equipment is preferred
Strong technical abilities, including measuring and reporting skills
Good physical fitness with a flexible and positive outlook
Availability for callouts on a 1 in 5 basis and willingness to work away from home when necessary
