Mechanical Fitter with Fabrication Experience
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter with strong fabrication skills to join a well-established engineering team within a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
*
Mechanical assembly, fitting, and maintenance of machinery and equipment
*
Fabrication of components using MIG and TIG welding, cutting, and grinding techniques
*
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering schematics
*
Carrying out fitting and alignment tasks to tight tolerances
*
Working on a range of equipment including conveyors, platforms, pipework, and support frames
*
Conducting inspections and ensuring components meet required specifications
*
Assisting with installation, testing, and commissioning on-site when required
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
*
Strong fabrication skills including welding (MIG and TIG), cutting, and metalwork
*
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
*
Proactive attitude with good problem-solving skills
*
Relevant qualifications such as NVQ or City and Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or Fabrication
*
Safety-conscious with a strong work ethic
