Job Title: Mechanical Fitter (x3)
Location: Birkenhead
Contract Type: 3-Month Initial Term with Permanent contracts for the right contracts
Rate: £22 per hour
About Us:
Our client is a respected and growing engineering services provider based in Birkenhead who specialize in high-quality mechanical installations, maintenance, and repair solutions for a wide range of industrial clients. Due to increased demand, we are looking for three experienced Mechanical Fitters on a temp-to-perm basis.
(CIS / Ltd. Company or Umbrella for PAYE)
Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical components and systems. You’ll work both independently and as part of a skilled team to deliver high standards of work across various engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Assemble and install mechanical components, machines, and equipment
*
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks
*
Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical systems
*
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
*
Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
*
Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations
*
Liaise with supervisors and other team members to ensure project goals are met
Requirements:
*
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in an industrial or engineering environment
*
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
*
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
*
NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) preferred
*
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
*
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
*
Flexibility to work overtime if required
