Mechanical Fitter
c£40,000 + overtime
Knottingley, West Yorkshire
MC Technical Recruitment are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join an industrial based site in the Knottingley area. This is a hands-on position carrying out maintenance and repairs on fixed and mobile plant, supporting operations and minimising downtime.
As the Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for:
Performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on static and mobile plant machinery (including engines)
Conducting inspections and servicing to ensure continuous, safe plant operation
Ordering tools, equipment, and parts as needed
Adhering to risk assessments and safe systems of work
Reporting incidents or near-misses and contributing to a strong safety culture
Supporting both planned and reactive maintenance alongside the wider engineering team
To be considered for this role, you should have:
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally in a heavy industrial environment
Skilled in fault-finding and diagnostics across engines and plant equipment
Strong awareness of health & safety practices and compliance
A self-motivated, reliable team player with good organisational skills
Competency Management System modules or similar training (desirable)
