Job Description
Humberside Engineering Training Association (HETA) is a rapidly expanding Group Training Association (GTA) with training centres in Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe. As a leading provider of engineering training, we work with over 300 client companies, delivering Level 3 engineering apprenticeships and upskilling programs. Partnering with some of the biggest names in engineering and manufacturing, HETA plays a pivotal role in supporting the growth of engineering talent locally, regionally, and nationally.

We are seeking experienced industry professionals ready to take the next step in their career by becoming a Mechanical Instructor. In this role, you will inspire and guide the next generation of engineers, sharing your expertise and industry knowledge to develop their skills, knowledge, and behaviours. No two days are the same, offering a dynamic and rewarding work environment. The role is a practical, workshop-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Promoting and supporting apprenticeships.
* Training young people through engineering study and apprenticeship programs.
* Delivering regulated qualifications (comprehensive training and support will be provided).
* Using personal and industry experience to guide learners to achieve their full potential
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will need
* Experience in Mechanical maintenance engineering.
* Knowledge of safe use of hand tools.
* Awareness of Hydraulics and/or pneumatics.
* A minimum of a Level 3 Engineering qualification.
* A strong understanding of Health & Safety practices and procedures.
* Excellent interpersonal and computer skills.
* A passion for teaching, empowering learners, and sharing personal and professional experiences.
* Experience with CAD software is desirable but not essential.
Desirable Qualifications
* Assessor and teaching qualifications (not essential as full training will be provided).
If you don’t already have assessor or teaching qualifications, don’t worry! We’ll support your journey to becoming a qualified instructor through a structured teacher training program and guidance from our dedicated Teaching & Learning team.
Location and Travel
We have two positions available, one in Hull and one in Scunthorpe. A valid driving license and access to your own transport is required, as occasional travel between centres may be necessary.
