Job Description

Resourcing Group are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Dayshift):Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisors, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is part of a larger site-based team. The post holder will very much be involved with the maintenance and minor works service covering all mechanical equipment throughout the Hospital comprising of heating equipment (pumps, control valves, radiators) ventilation equipment (fans, heating/cooling coils, Humidification) Domestic Hot Water equipment (calorifiers, safety devices) compressors, manifolds for medical gases, Building Management System control equipment.Work involves the use of analytical test devices, specialist tools, workshop fixed equipment, portable electrical equipment, emergency generators, medical gas equipment (patient use) suction units, geared drives. The post holder will be responsible for carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) works in order to meet completion dates of the relevant KPI's. Establishing and maintaining effective business relationships with all key stakeholders, customers, partners, contractors and other third parties to deliver best practice services. Compliance with all statutory requirements in relation to safe working practices and safe operation of plant, equipment and services and all activities essential to meet all relevant Health Technical Memoranda (HTM and SHTM) and Quality Assurance requirements. Adhere to the site Health & Safety (H&S) Plan and associated Risk Assessments, alongside the SHEQ team, ensuring that obligations for H&S and any statutory requirements associated to the delivery of the contract are appropriately and fully applied.IMPACT: The objective of the department is to operate and maintain an optimum environment in which healthcare can be delivered to the patient. The main elements being Ventilation, Water, Plumbing, Mechanical Services, Electrical Services, piped medical gases, Steam etc.This is a critical role, providing critical services within a Healthcare environment.The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be able to work in accordance with the requirements of Health Technical Memoranda (HTM's); Medical Gases HTM 2022 and Water Supplies HTM 2027, HTM 2040 and (Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L8), Ventilation Plant HTM 2025 and any other relevant statutory compliance requirements (Pressure Systems Regulations 2000).Be able to price small works. · Prompt delivery of maintenance.· Assist in the contribution to ensure that plant and equipment data and information is delivered in an accurate and timely manner to enable Lifecycle Planning to be developed.Working with a team of dedicated engineers the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer ensures the safe and continued operation of the plant and related equipment within the Hospital and University BuildingsThis position has responsibility to ensure the engineer operates in such a way to ensure compliance with the company, contract, and local operating procedures, ensuring a standardised approach to the Client's service delivery model. The position requires the engineer to undertake fault finding on complex medical gas systems, MTHW /LTHW heating systems, critical HVAC systems and pressurised steam systems. Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, commissioning and testing in accordance with published procedures, completing all report sheets as necessary. Use of all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works ensuring full compliance with Client's Guidelines and Controls e.g, Risk Assessment, Site Safety, Fire Safety, Control of Infection and Hazardous Substances.
