Mechanical Supervisor – Take Charge on Complex M&E Projects
If you're a hands-on mechanical supervisor who knows how to keep a site moving and a team motivated, this is your opportunity to step into a key role delivering high-profile commercial and healthcare M&E projects across London and the South East.
This is a site-facing role for someone who thrives on detail, coordination, and control. You’ll be leading mechanical install works — from heating and chilled water systems to full plantroom setups — ensuring quality, compliance, and programme are locked in from day one. We’re not after clipboard managers. We’re after someone who can get the job built right.
You’ll oversee direct labour and subcontractors on the ground, manage installation standards, coordinate with the project engineer and site manager, and take ownership of QA and H&S protocols. The projects you’ll work on include hospitals, fit-outs, education and mixed-use commercial builds, with services typically involving copper, crimped and screwed pipework up to 4”. You’ll be reading drawings, spotting clashes, solving problems, and making decisions — this role demands initiative and site intelligence.
You’ll already be experienced in mechanical services installation and confident managing trades. Ideally you’ll have five or more years in a similar role and hold SSSTS, CSCS (Gold or above), and an NVQ in plumbing or pipefitting. Knowledge of H&S procedures, permit systems and safe working practices is essential. First aid, PASMA or IPAF tickets are a bonus — but attitude and reliability count more.
