GSL Education are looking for a caring and motivated Mental Health Teaching Assistant (TA) to support students in a wonderful school in Havant. This is your chance to make a real difference by helping children manage their emotions, stay focused, and feel confident in school.
Your Role as Mental Health Teaching Assistant Will Include:
Supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs during lessons and breaks
Helping children manage their behaviour, feelings, and friendships in positive ways
Working closely with teachers and other staff to make sure students feel safe and supported.
Encouraging a calm and welcoming classroom environment
Keeping track of how students are doing and sharing updates with the team
Being a trusted adult that students can talk to and rely on
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
A strong interest in supporting children with mental health or emotional needs.
Experience working with young people (in school, youth work, care, or similar).
A calm, patient, and understanding nature.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
A CV covering the past 10 years (with any gaps clearly explained).
An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
