Job Description

Are you a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Worker with experience in providing behaviour support within a secondary school setting? An exciting opportunity awaits you at a partner Secondary School in Blackpool, UK! We are seeking a skilled and empathetic individual to join our student support team. You will play a vital role in promoting positive behaviour, supporting students' emotional wellbeing, and contributing to a safe and inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities: Provide direct support to secondary school students experiencing behavioural challenges, both individually and in small groups. Conduct assessments of students' social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Develop and implement tailored behaviour support plans in collaboration with school staff, students, and families. Offer strategies and interventions to de-escalate challenging situations and promote positive behaviour choices. Contribute to the development and delivery of whole-school approaches to behaviour management and mental health awareness. Liaise with external agencies and professionals as needed. Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reports.Requirements: Relevant qualification in mental health, social work, counselling, education, or a related field. Proven experience of providing behaviour support to young people, ideally within a secondary school environment. Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, mental health issues, and effective behaviour management techniques. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). Right to work in the UK.Desirable: Specific training in behaviour management approaches (e.g., Team Teach, Positive Behaviour Support). Experience delivering group work or training sessions.
