Job Description
MIG Welder – Full-Time | Temp-Perm
Major Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established client in Leicester who is expanding their fabrication team due to continued business growth. We are currently looking to recruit a time-served MIG Welder to join their operations on a full-time basis.
Salary + Hours
* £14.00 -£17 per hour (depending on experience and skill level)
* 40 hours per week
* Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:45
* Friday: 07:30 – 12:30
Key Responsibilities:
*
Carry out high-quality MIG welding on mild steel components and structures
*
Occasionally weld stainless steel, depending on project requirements
*
Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
*
Work to varied tolerances, including tight specifications where required
*
Prepare, tack, weld, and finish components to a high standard
*
Conduct visual and dimensional checks on completed welds
*
Operate safely and efficiently within a busy fabrication workshop
*
Support a range of projects – from one-off bespoke work to repeat production runs
Requirements:
*
Time-served MIG Welder with proven experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
*
Proficient in welding mild steel (essential) and stainless steel (preferred)
*
Ability to work from detailed technical drawings and weld symbols
*
Skilled in producing strong, clean welds across various thicknesses
*
Experience working to tight tolerances and ensuring weld quality
*
Ability to manage workloads effectively and work well as part of a team
