Job Description

Teacher of Music Required - Outstanding Newham School, London Our Outstanding school in the culturally rich borough of Newham, London, seeks a dedicated and experienced Teacher of Music to join our thriving Arts department and make a real difference to the musical education and engagement of our students across all Key Stages. Key Responsibilities Include: * Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective Music lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of our students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, reflecting the musical diversity of Newham. * Developing students' musical skills in performance, composition, listening, and appraisal. * Contributing to the vibrant extracurricular music program, including instrumental ensembles and vocal groups. * Assessing and tracking student progress in Music, providing constructive feedback, and implementing effective intervention strategies where necessary. * Collaborating effectively with colleagues within the Arts department and across the wider school. * Utilizing and contributing to the development of high-quality musical resources and technology. The Ideal Candidate Will Possess: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. * A degree in Music or a closely related field. * Successful experience teaching Music across Key Stages 3 and 4, with experience in Key Stage 5 being advantageous. * A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for Music and relevant examination specifications. * Excellent pedagogical skills and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners in a diverse London context. * A passion for music and the ability to inspire students and foster their creativity and appreciation for a wide range of musical styles. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. * A commitment to the safeguarding and well-being of students and the promotion of musical excellence within the Newham community.
