Nights Maintenance Engineer
Sittingbourne, Kent
4 on 4 off
7pm- 7am
£42,000-£45,000 DOE
A leading UK-based service provider in the food manufacturing sector is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team. With multiple large-scale sites and continued investment in technology and infrastructure, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced operation.
About the Role
Reporting to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of a range of production and packaging machinery, building systems, and site equipment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance, efficiency, and minimal downtime across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out preventative maintenance and condition monitoring to minimise breakdowns
Respond to and resolve equipment faults with minimal disruption
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, and complete all necessary documentation
Perform statutory inspections and liaise with external contractors and insurers as required
Maintain and update the asset register and service logs
Monitor and improve equipment performance using KPIs
Support the training of production teams on safe machinery use and care
Carry out general building maintenance and support site infrastructure as needed
What We’re Looking For
Relevant mechanical qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent)
17th Edition Electrical Qualification (or later)
Proven experience in engineering/maintenance roles
Confident with troubleshooting electro-mechanical machinery
Working knowledge of Health & Safety standards, COSHH, and CDM regulations
Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
Skilled in the use of basic power tools and diagnostic equipment
Full UK driving licence
