Job Description
Major Recruitment are working in partnership with a UK-based leader in high-performance stainless and nickel alloys for the oil & gas, nuclear, and energy sectors, who are now looking for an Operations Manager to join their team.
This is a pivotal role overseeing production and warehouse operations while supporting the implementation of a new IT system to drive modernisation across the business.
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a disciplined and proactive individual with a strong operational background and experience in the steel or metals industry. You will bring fresh thinking and practical ideas to help optimise processes, enhance efficiency, and drive team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and coordinate daily production and warehouse activities
* Ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets are met or exceeded
* Play a hands-on role in the rollout of a new ERP/IT system
* Support operational planning, scheduling, and resource management
* Encourage continuous improvement and accountability across teams
About You:
* Proven experience in an operational leadership role, ideally within the steel, metals, or heavy manufacturing industries.
* In-depth understanding of production and warehouse processes
* Strong track record of managing change and implementing systems
* Confident, organised, and able to work under pressure
* A team player who can motivate and develop staff at all levels
Working Hours 9am-5pm (with some flexibility)
Salary £40-50k pa DOE
