The Role - What You'll Be Doing
As the EXPERIENCED Packaging Buyer, you'll report directly to the Sales Director and working as part of a small team but with the potential to be a Buying Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing and managing products to meet demand. Your role will be fast-paced and dynamic, requiring strong negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to build strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Product & Supplier Management: Take ownership of product categories, negotiate pricing, and manage purchase orders from placement to delivery - including international freight bookings.
✔️ Market Trends & Analysis: Use sales reports and performance indicators to identify new trends and opportunities for product development.
✔️ Sourcing & Negotiation: Build and strengthen relationships with suppliers, negotiate competitive pricing, and ensure our supply chain remains efficient.
✔️ Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with internal teams to ensure products launch on time and deliveries meet our client's needs.
✔️ Cost Savings & Profitability: Monitor commodity trends and use insights to drive cost savings and improved profits.
✔️ Team Support: Provide direction and guidance to administrative team members to ensure smooth operations.
What We're Looking For
🛒 Experience: 3+ years of Buying/Purchasing experience (preferably within packaging).
📊 Analytical Skills: Strong maths and data analysis abilities with attention to detail.
💻 Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
💬 Communication: Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to build supplier relationships.
🎯 Self-Motivated: A proactive problem solver who can manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
👥 Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively while also taking initiative independently.
