About the Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teaching staff and SEN professionals to provide direct support to pupils with a range of special educational needs. Your role will be crucial in helping students access the curriculum, manage their emotions and behaviours, and achieve their full potential in a safe, structured environment. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils with diverse SEND needs in both one-to-one and small group settings. Assist in implementing individual learning plans and behaviour support strategies. Foster a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. Encourage pupil independence, resilience, and engagement with learning activities. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the SENCO and teaching team. Promote the safeguarding and well-being of all pupils under your care. Job Requirements: Prior experience supporting children or young people with SEND is highly desirable. A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to learning support. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. Knowledge of SEN strategies and an understanding of emotional and behavioural needs. A relevant qualification in education or child support is advantageous.
