Pastoral Behaviour Support Worker - Secondary School, Blackpool, UK

The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Pastoral Behaviour Support Worker to join our student support team in our secondary school in Blackpool, UK. You will play a crucial role in providing targeted support to students who may be experiencing behavioural challenges, social-emotional difficulties, and barriers to learning, helping them to develop positive behaviours and thrive within our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and small group mentoring and support to students identified as needing pastoral and behavioural intervention.
Work closely with Year Heads, Safeguarding Leads, SENCO, and teachers to implement behaviour support plans and pastoral care strategies aligned with the UK education system.
Work with students to address underlying social and emotional issues contributing to behavioural challenges.
Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support and well-being in the UK.
Maintain accurate records of interventions, student progress, and any concerns, adhering to data protection guidelines in the UK.About You:
Experience working with young people in a pastoral, mentoring, or behaviour support role within the UK education system or a similar setting.
A strong understanding of the social, emotional, and behavioural challenges faced by secondary school students in the UK.
Empathy, patience, resilience, and a calm and consistent approach when working with challenging behaviour.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team within the UK school structure.
A genuine passion for supporting the social, emotional, and behavioural development of young people in the UK.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in the UK.Desirable:
Qualifications or training in pastoral care, counselling, youth work, psychology, or behaviour management relevant to the UK context.
Experience developing and implementing behaviour support plans and pastoral care strategies in UK schools.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance related to behaviour management and child welfare in the UK.
Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and behavioural difficulties within the UK SEN framework (including EHCPs).
Training in areas such as Restorative Practices, Trauma-Informed Care, or Mental Health First Aid relevant to the UK context.
A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate on the update service.Location: Blackpool, Lancashire, UK
Contract Type: Full Time / Part Time / Term Time
Salary: Mimimum £480 per week / £1920 per month GROSS.
Start Date: ASAP.
